Description

MICROBE-LIFT's Plantscaper is 50 g of super glue in gel form, sold for aquascape mosses and plants in freshwater aquariums, and the listing says it is made of cyanoacrylate. The directions are to put a small amount on the part of the plant to be glued and press the plant firmly for a few moments. According to the seller, a few drops are enough for a good result. RA AquaTech's glue, another cyanoacrylate gel sold for plants, comes as four aluminum tubes of 5 g each, 20 g in all. This paragraph, like the one above, is the seller's own account. The seller calls it an extremely thick gel that works underwater or above water, meant for live plants, small artificial decorations and small rocks; for large decorations or rocks it says to use silicone instead. According to the listing, the formula needs moisture to cure. In a dry setting the seller suggests spraying some water to speed curing, and it warns that excess glue left in air without enough moisture will not cure properly. Its advice is to put the glue on the point of contact between the two surfaces rather than around it. The listing gives a fixture time of 10 seconds to 30 minutes and a full cure of 10 minutes to 24 hours, depending on moisture and the amount of glue, and says that once the bond has partial strength the piece can go into the tank to finish curing underwater. The directions are to apply a small amount to the bottom of the moss or plant, press it against the surface for 20 seconds, and wipe the tip before replacing the cap. The listing's warning names cyanoacrylate and calls the glue an eye and skin irritant. It says to wear gloves and eye protection, keep the glue out of the reach of children, and rinse with water for 5 to 10 minutes and get medical attention at once if it gets in an eye.
