Wave scissors are aquascaping scissors with a wave-shaped blade, sold for trimming carpeting plants. JBL, which makes its ProScape Tool S 20 wave in Japan, describes it as wave shaped scissors for aquascaping plant maintenance, for professional clipping of lawn forming plants and for plants which are difficult to reach when creating aquarium landscapes. It gives the length as 20 cm and the weight as 51.8 g. LANDEN explains what the shape does. Its listing says the smooth concave arc design allows you to cut parallel to the substrate, close to the roots of aquatic plants, and calls the scissors more suitable for trimming large areas of foreground grass. The most-rated wave scissors in our search, Mandala Crafts' 10 inch pair, are sold on reach and comfort. The seller says they cut smoothly even for thick stems and fit small openings, and that the extra-long aquatic scissors negate the need to soak an entire arm in water and prevent accidental injuries. This row's old note tied the tool to carpet plants, and the sellers agree: LANDEN's foreground grass and JBL's lawn forming plants describe the same use. None of them gives a trimming height or interval, and this page does not.
